Community Extensions and Templates
The in-app Extensions → Community gallery browses public, stable GitHub releases from the Driftleaf-Extensions and Driftleaf-Templates repositories.
The gallery lists releases that are neither drafts nor prereleases and displays their release descriptions and assets. Driftleaf requests release metadata only when you open or refresh the gallery. The rest of the app remains usable offline.
Community extension releases
Attach standalone .js files to a GitHub Release in Driftleaf-Extensions. Each asset must be no larger than 512 KB. The asset filename becomes the extension name; the release title or tag supplies its version, and the release description becomes its release notes.
When selected in the gallery, the extension source is downloaded for preview. Installing stores the extension in the encrypted vault with no permissions enabled. Users must review its source and explicitly grant the capabilities it needs. Extensions are executable code; publishing an asset does not imply that AetherAssembly has audited or endorsed it.
Community template releases
Attach a .zip file to a GitHub Release in Driftleaf-Templates. It can contain Markdown notes and optional CSV or Driftleaf JSON databases arranged in folders. Other file types are not imported. Archives and individual files are subject to the same import limits as regular ZIP imports; see Databases.
Driftleaf imports supported files into the current vault under Community templates/<asset filename>. Archive paths are validated, and imported notes and databases are written to encrypted vault storage. The same per-file size limits used by regular ZIP imports apply.
Release descriptions and privacy
Release notes are displayed as plain text. Do not put private information in release descriptions or assets.
The gallery uses GitHub's public Releases API and public release assets. GitHub receives ordinary network request metadata, such as the user's IP address. Driftleaf does not send vault contents, note titles, passphrases, or account identifiers in these requests. Preview and installation downloads are initiated by the user. See the Privacy Policy.
Publishing examples
Starter JavaScript extensions and publishing notes are maintained in the Driftleaf repository's portable community folder. That folder is intended to be moved into its own extensions repository. For the extension API and its permissions, see Extensions.
